Major Markets of Amine Derivatives

When it comes to the use of amines and their derivatives, we usually relate them with amino acids, the component part of peptides and proteins.

Amines, together with their derivatives, have extensive applications in terms of the biological area, and play a vital role in this area in amino acid form. The transport of neurotransmitters also relies on amino acids. Besides, amino acids are of great importance in such processes as biosynthesis. As far as pharmaceutical research is concerned, a wide range of drugs contain amines and amine derivatives, including antiviral drugs and antibacterial drugs.

Amino compounds, as well as other derived compounds, are widely applied in the chemical industry. In coordination chemistry, amines function as ideal ligands. In fibers and thermoplastics, amides are commonly employed. As for the textile industry, most azo compounds are used as dyes and pigments, while some are as indicators. Concerning the application of Hydrazide compounds, they are used in thermoset adhesive and various coating products, and often as oxygen scavengers and foaming agents.

Amine use in gas treatment: according to Wiki, aqueous monoethanolamine, diglycolamine, diethanolamine, diisopropanolamine and methyldiethanolamine is widely used for removing carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide from natural gas, and remove of CO2 from combustion gases and flue gases. They also contribute to the decrease of greenhouse gases. And relevant processes are called sweetening.

Some important applications of alkylamines: they can be used as intermediates in pharmaceutical manufacturing, in the synthesizing process of insecticides, fungicides and herbicides; as initial compounds for the production of detergents, emulsifiers, resins and so on; as catalysts for various chemical reactions, such as polycondensation and polymerization reactions; as an element in additives for the gasoline and lubricant sector; used in metal extraction in reactive solvent form, etc. They are also widely used in dyeing industry.
